COMMON GROUND with Jane Whitney

WHAT ABOUT COG?

Conversations On the Green works tirelessly to bring you the strongest voices in the country. COG produces the program, as we have done for 8 seasons - so don't worry about COG, we are here to stay, in your local community (and beyond)!

WHAT IT MEANS?

The nationally broadcast version of the series will be called “Common Ground with Jane Whitney”. It will also be listed as “Common Ground" in your television schedule.

The new name is a reflection of our core mission - to help neighbors, communities and the country find common ground on the nation's most pressing yet controversial issues – a reminder that we are all fellow Americans and our diversity is what makes us stronger.

WHY WE CHANGED IT

The name change grows out of a number of factors – while the ‘The Green’ has deep resonance in New England, the expression is befuddling to many Americans in other parts of the country. And our PBS syndicator noted that Conversations On the Green doesn’t fit in most television listings. That clinched it.

WHAT STAYS THE SAME

"Common Ground with Jane Whitney" will continue to bridge the country’s bilious partisan divide and bring civic education to communities across the country.

We’ll continue extending a hand across the aisle, presenting headline grabbing names and voices from disenfranchised communities, connecting all of us to a diverse array of viewpoints and experiences.
